This started out as a single line comment and has turned into it's own review. Blame my head cold or general boredom at work. In any case, here goes:

I'm all out blown away by this record. I'll for sure be investing in vinyl when it's available. It's rare even with albums that I like these days that I come across multiple "holy shit" moments. I've been listening to it at work and it's sidetracked me many a time, forcing me to set aside everything else I'm doing and back up the track to figure out how they got to the insane melody avalanche I'm currently swirling in.
In younger days I was fairly obsessed with The Boredoms and Zorn related noise/sound experiments. They were often described as "pure ear", which I always thought was a good thing to shoot for in any music. I took it to mean that a lot of things in their style like beats and lyrics etc. were bypassed in lieu of strength in the tone, forc and motion. When done right it was a more true and direct line from instrument to cortex making the music more ritual between performer and listener than the standard perform/observe/review.
I'm older now and I need a beat to lean on. But sometimes I still hear moments in contemporary music that have that same direct line effect. Where the swell and the rush and the delivery take over and I realize I'm not just tapping my foot or twitching my head, but I'm actually enveloped in that "pure ear".
Shotgun pull that off multiple times in this album. If they're not an actual force of nature themselves, then they're for sure channeling something that powerful through their music. This is strong stuff, not good music to ignore.

Don't forget Vicki Kolokowski for superior court judge!

She's highly qualified, and she would become the highest ranking transgendered government official in the entire country.
